Logical Reasoning
Learning to think step by step and make sense of information.
SCHOOLS
Mathematics helps develop reasoning, abstract thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. When fear gets in the way, students may begin to avoid challenges before they discover what they are capable of.
Let's Talk About Your StudentsLearning Readiness · Mathematical Thinking · Problem-Solving Confidence

Why It Matters
Mathematics is not taught only for calculations or daily life. It also helps develop important ways of thinking.
Learning to think step by step and make sense of information.
Learning to understand ideas beyond what can be directly seen.
Looking for patterns, connections, and different ways to solve a problem.
Learning to face a problem, explore options, and find a way forward.
Learning to analyse information before making a choice.
Learning to explain ideas and show why an answer makes sense.
This is why fear of mathematics should not be seen as only a problem with one subject.
When students begin to avoid mathematics, they may also miss chances to develop these important ways of thinking.
The Challenges We See
Mathematics is meant to develop reasoning and problem-solving.
But repeated struggle can make capable students believe: “I am not good at this.”
Fear can then stop them from trying before their ability has a chance to grow.
Mathematics is meant to develop reasoning, connections, and problem-solving.
But students may memorise formulas and follow steps without understanding how to approach a new problem.
When the familiar method changes, they may not know where to begin.
Mathematics helps students learn to reason, imagine, analyse, and solve.
When fear leads to avoidance, students may begin to step away from challenges that require these skills.
The impact can go beyond one subject.
The goal is not simply to help students get more answers.
It is to help them become more willing to try, think, and face problems.
The Solverise Approach
Before students can learn, they need to be ready to engage.
Solverise helps students understand what may be creating fear or hesitation.
The aim is to help them become more willing to:
Knowing the steps is not always enough.
Students learn to:
They begin to approach problems with more structure instead of immediately waiting to be told what to do.
Difficult problems should not always lead to giving up.
Students are encouraged to approach unfamiliar problems, try different ways, learn from mistakes, and keep thinking.
The goal is: a student who is more willing to face difficulty.
A structured way to help students slow down, understand the problem, and think before jumping to an answer.
The Shift Solverise Aims to Support
Students are a reflection of the learning environment around them. When fear of mathematics reduces and students begin to see purpose in learning, their approach can start to change.
From
Towards
The goal is not to change who the student is.
It is to help them see what they can do when fear of mathematics is no longer holding them back.
The shift Solverise is designed to support.
The Solverise Experience for Your Students
An interactive experience for students.
The Beyond Fear helps students understand how fear and hesitation may be affecting their learning.
Through activities, discussion, reflection, and problem-solving, students begin to:
Fear of mathematics should not decide a student's future.

Solverise was founded by Dr. Jerlin Seles, a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Assistant Professor, and STEM Educator.
Through her work with students across different learning backgrounds, she has seen how fear, hesitation, and self-doubt can change the way students approach learning.
She created Solverise to help students move beyond fear, understand why learning matters, think through problems, and build the confidence to face challenges.

What students say about learning with Dr. Jerlin
“You make Mathematics feel much less scary. I actually started to like Mathematics because of the way you teach. You made me more confident and encouraged me to try solving problems instead of being afraid of getting them wrong.”
“You can ask her any doubts, no matter how little or silly the doubt is. She will address each one calmly and never make you feel bad for not knowing a simple concept. That itself gives you confidence to solve many questions.”
“You would be in a better state compared to where you started. No matter how big the change is, there will always be something to take away from your learning journey with her.”
Questions
Fear and hesitation should not decide what students try, avoid, or believe they are capable of.
